Craig Stobo

Craig Stobo was educated at Otago University and Wharton Business School. He has worked as a Diplomat, Economist, Investment Banker and CEO of a Funds Management company.

He has authored reports for the NZ Government on "The Taxation of Investment Income" which led to the Portfolio Investment Entity (PIE) managed fund regime and for the Taupo Group on "Creating Wealth for New Zealanders". Craig is working with the NZ Government on implementing initiatives from the latter.

Craig has three professional Directorships. He is currently Chairman of AMP Haumi Management Ltd (the management company for the listed trust AMP NZ Office Trust), Chairman of OCG Consulting Ltd and Director of Biomarine Ltd.

Craig is also an entrepreneur. He is Chairman and shareholder of Saturn Portfolio Management Ltd (an independent investment advisory business), Chairman and shareholder of Elevation Capital Management Ltd (the investment manager of the Multi Strategy Fund and Value Fund), Chairman and shareholder of Appello Services Ltd (a specialist unit registry provider) and Chairman and shareholder of Legend Terrace Ltd (a Central Otago vineyard).

In addition Craig consults to domestic and global organisations assessing opportunities in the NZ financial services, capital and property markets.

Steve Smith

Steve Smith is Managing Director at Unison Capital Advisors Ltd, a corporate financial advisory practice. Prior to this he was a partner in PricewaterhouseCoopers, leading the Investment Banking practice.

Mr Smith has a number of other directorships including Fulton Hogan Ltd, Versatile Buildings Ltd, Trebol Investments Ltd, Life Pharmacy Ltd, and the Auckland Zoo Enterprise Board. He spent 18 months as Director and Acting Chief Executive Officer at Pacific Retail Group Ltd in 2004 - 2005, including chairing the boards of Bendon Ltd, Pacific Retail Finance, and Living & Giving.

Ian Basser

Ian Basser has over 20 years experience in starting, running and building service companies around the world. Ian has built businesses in Australia, Hong Kong, China, Singapore, USA, UK and Europe. In addition he has extensive experience working with clients in assessing, recruiting and retaining people.

In 2003, Ian joined with former Wallabies Captain, John Eales, to found the Mettle Group of companies, which included Mettle Consulting, Mettle Sports and Mettle Media. Prior to building Mettle Group, Ian was the COO of a large UK listed recruitment and IT services firm. He has instigated a major leadership and cultural change project helping to turn the company from $38m loss to profit. The focus of this change program was introducing a new set of values and management standards across the organisation.

Previous to that Ian worked as a member of the senior management team of one of the world’s leading recruitment groups, Michael Page. In this role he developed new businesses in many of the world’s most competitive markets and recruited senior management for clients such as GE, Goldman Sachs, Philips, Merrill Lynch, Diageo, Philip Morris, Proctor and Gamble and HSBC to name a few.

As Director - Recruitment & Consulting for Chandler Macleod Limited, Ian is responsible for the profitable growth of the Recruitment and Consulting brands including Entec, Diversiti, CM Health, CM HR, CM Consulting and Mettle.

John Plummer

John is an Executive Director of Chandler Macleod Limited. He is also the past National President of the Recruitment and Consulting Services Association, the peak body of the employment services industry in Australia and New Zealand. John is a Director of London City Equities Ltd and Belmont Holdings Ltd (both since November 2004) and a Director of Recruitment Super, the recruitment industry superannuation fund.

George Brooks

A Marketing graduate of Auckland University, George has an extensive background in sales, marketing, general management and export, primarily in the paper and printing industries. He entered the recruitment industry in 1991 as CEO. Since that time he has been involved in business development, acquisitions and divestments, and holds Directorships in both publicly listed and privately held companies.
