OCG are excited to announce the establishment of our Christchurch office. We have been working in the Canterbury region for a decade and are supported by our owners, the Chandler Macleod Group. This structure provides OCG with stability and resources not available to many other recruiters active in Christchurch.

OCG selects and places candidates in almost every business sector and industry that is active in Canterbury. With our Consultants offer search and selection, psychological assessment, talent identification and career development services focused directly on the needs of its clients and candidates.

OCG South Island General Manager Greg McAllister has extensive corporate and business experience and has worked in human resource management and line management across a variety of sectors including banking and finance, investments, telecommunications, health and consulting. Greg is a Canterbury resident and now leads OCG’s South Island business from the new Christchurch office. His appointment is part of OCG’s increased commitment to the Canterbury region.

OCG helps client businesses build capability and plan for the future- crucial now the rebuild is gaining momentum. "Our consultants are experts in functional areas and industry sectors. This structure enables our teams to operate with the highest level of specialisation, drawing on years of direct, front-line experience. In fact we are always looking to bring in new talent for our own specialist recruitment teams – never more so than in our current growth phase”- Greg Mcallister, GM South Island.

In a similar fashion, OCG’s extensive experience in New Zealand and its insight into the global recruitment industry has shown that candidates look for a consultant who understands what motivates them and will direct them to the role that fits them best. "Candidates are looking to us to provide them with the best possible opportunities; our clients want the best possible people, candidates who fit right in to their organisational structure. We strive to meet the needs of both”- Greg Mcallister, GM South Island.

For this reason, OCG describes its role as ‘careermaker’. Now, as OCG steps up its commitment to the region, it is responding to the challenges and opportunities that come with the rebuild of Christchurch and its environs.

"The rapidly accelerating rebuild is an exciting phase for Christchurch. It also brings challenges for organisations and the workforce. Because we have been part of Canterbury’s success for more than ten years we have a clear understanding of the unique career environment here.”

Mr McAllister says with a Canterbury staff dedicated to helping the region grow and succeed, OCG is ‘best placed’ within the recruitment industry to represent the core values of its clients, to attract the very best talent available and to help retain that talent.
