We are looking, on their behalf, for a suitably qualified Research Metallurgist to join the team, based at their research facility in Greymouth. This is a start up organisation, so you must be prepared to get in and do a variety of things, including assisting in the establishment of the Minerals Research Laboratory.
You will ideally be a chemical engineer, or a mineral process engineer with experience in mineral processing or mining. Exposure to operations and laboratory work is also required and as some of the equipment used will be: crushers, mills, flotation cells, magnetic and gravity separators etc. experience in the use of these would be extremely beneficial.
Key deliverables include the development and supervision of mineral research projects that align with NZIMMR business plans and strategies. In addition you will also build new and maintain existing industry relationships, so credibility and communication skills go hand in hand. You will be looking at new and improved recovery techniques, to enable extraction of more than one commodity and will have the opportunity to build your own team on starting.
They already have some exciting targeted research projects up their sleeve to work on and you will understand how to get new technology out into the field.
This really is one of the greatest teams to be a part of in NZ right now and if you have a passion for the outdoors, then the West Coast is the place for you to expand on your skills and experience, whilst enjoying the fantastic lifestyle available.
If you want to bring your skills to an organisation that will aid in the betterment of a local NZ community, taking into consideration not only commercial, but also environmental considerations, then get on board now with this exciting initiative, driving change on the beautiful West Coast of the South Island.
